These figures are part of the Elgin Marbles, pieces of the Acropolis (Greek temple) that the people of Greece have been desparate to get back for years. The Acropolis was blown up by the Turkish years ago when they used it to store gunpowder. Now it is a ruins, and England has the best pieces of it.
